HIP Haverford Innovation Incubator Fellowship: Application Information, Summer 2018 ページ Information: Innovation Incubator Application

In summer 2018, HIP will pilot the Innovation Incubator for one team of students working on a collaborative project. An 8-week program, the Innovation Incubator will support that team’s project development, with the goal of significantly advancing that concept’s readiness and marketability. Such projects are designed and defined broadly, and the end result may take the form of a marketable product, a creative work for public release, an organization or company, or another form of social innovation.

The document below outlines what will be required for the submission.

Applications are open and close on Sunday, Feb 18th @ 11:59pm

Shortlisted teams will be notified to schedule presentations on or before Tuesday, Feb 27th.

Address any questions to Shayna Nickel, Haverford Innovation Program Manager.

What is Design Thinking:

Design Thinking is a methodology merging creative problem-solving with design strategies.

"Design Thinking activities are carried on in different steps which are: empathize, define, ideate, prototype and test. Within these steps, problems can be framed, the right questions can be asked, more ideas can be created, and the best answers chosen."

Designing New Businesses:

We’ve become accustomed to the value of creativity and design thinking in creating new products.

But what about creating entirely new businesses?

How can we collaborate, co-create, brainstorm and play while thinking through more serious issues like the flow of money and the structure of resources?

In this session, we’ll use the Business Model Canvas and Value Proposition Mad Libs to learn how to do just that.
